Birding the Osa Peninsula
There are over 360 species of birds
found on the Osa Peninsula.  Here
are a few you are likely to see.

Chestnut-mandibled toucan
Blue-crowned motmot
Scarlet macaw
Trogons
Magnificent frigatebird
Brown booby
Brown pelican
Scarlet Macaws are a
common sight in the area.
The Bare Throated Tiger
Heron is another  beautiful
bird of the Osa Peninsula.
Brown pelicans are a
common sight at Las
Cotingas.  Frigate birds
and Brown Boobys are
found offshore.
Tropical Birding Trips
Listen for the distinctive call of the Chestnut-mandibled Toucan, which
frequents the area around Las Cotingas.  These photos were taken while
watching from the deck of Cabina del Aracari.
Great Currasow  live in the
rain forests of  Corcovado
National Park
This red-legged
honey-creeper likes the
trees next to the deck of
Cabina del Jacobin.
Chestnut-mandibled toucan
and fiery-billed Aracari
come to feed in the trees
near to Las Cotingas.
